Protect Black Women

I have been reflecting on those videos of those black men throwing that black woman into a dumpster and the black male hitting a black woman in the the face with his skateboard because she wasn’t interested in him. For black women to put so much energy and free labor to defend black men, it really hurts more when you see these abuses come from them. I’m am constantly triggered from the number of times of being scared to say no to giving out my number, being called names for not acknowledging cat calls, or being physically assaulted out and having other black men laugh or not do anything. I’m just so disappointed right now and hurt to see those videos, especially when we have black women putting in so much work to protect others yet not getting that same protection back. Anytime a black woman says she does not feel protected or heard, there is always a rebuttal and never a true reflection. Black Women (and queer black folxs) are the backbone AND the foundation of the Black Liberation Movement. We fight for the lives of all black people, yet when we counter your words or defy your actions, we are met with arguments and physical abuse against our bodies. There has to be action behind you saying "I love Black Women". You need to love our existence and stop being bystanders when it comes to the verbal and physical abuse that we endure.
